Christian Marriage is a major commitment which requires deliberate preparation and care on the part of the couple seeking to have their marriage blessed by the church. In this regard, it is expected that at least one member of the couple seeking to be married should be Baptized and an active communicant of the Church of the Ascension prior to scheduling the date of the wedding. At the rector's discretion, weddings in the church may be conducted for people who are active communicants from another parish, with the acknowledgement and consent of that parish's rector. Weddings are not performed during Lent. For further information, contact the parish office for a copy of the guidelines regarding marriage in the Episcopal Church and at the Church of the Ascension.
