This morning we welcome the Rev. Ned Gammons as our supply priest. Please take a moment during the “Refreshments on the Lawn” to say hello to Fr. Ned and make him feel welcome here at Ascension.

Following the service…

Please join us for refreshments on the lawn after the Sunday Eucharist for lemonade and cookies, etc., during the summer.

Our host this morning is Sigrid Hewitt.

If you would like to host, there is a sign up sheet in the Narthex.    

 

 

Bring your Children to Church Day

 

Sunday, Aug. 1 ( 9:00 a.m.) is bring your child (ren) to church day. Special music has been planned along with a children’s homily.

 

Save the date!

     Parish Pot Luck Picnic, Saturday, Aug. 14 beginning @ 6:00. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share with everyone. A few tables will be provided, but feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

Those planning to attend the 5:00 service may use the parish hall kitchen for food storage.

 

Please feel free to dress casually.

Jonnycake Center Donations

 

The August contributions will be fruit juices, fruit boxes, snacks and pasta and spaghetti sauce..

You may place your very much appreciated donations in the basket in the Narthex.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Volunteers Needed  

 

Help is needed in identifying parishioners who should receive altar flowers. If you know of someone who is in the hospital, not feeling well, celebrating a special event or as a thank you, contact Barbara Palmer at 783-7035 or barbpalm@cox.net.Also, help is needed delivering flowers for an hour or so once every six to eight weeks.

 

Book Swap

 

Coming in the fall, Karen Runner will be organizing a book swap. It will be a great way to recycle books and broaden your reading enjoyment. More details to follow.
